This article is about street prostitution in the Dutch city of Amsterdam.

Late 19th century, and possibly much earlier, in the vicinity of the seafront and the Wall on the Old Silk gevigileerd, or street prostitution customers touted. Elsewhere in the city happened when little or no.

After the Amsterdam brothels of 1897 and the nationwide ban on brothels in 1911 took over the street prostitution. In 1935, states Amsterdam a vigileerverbod (= streetwalker ban) in.

After taking 1945 and outside the Netherlands throughout the lift or shoulder to prostitution, the prostitute along highways offers to passing motorists, and usually sexual intercourse takes place in the car. Gradually, the term "soliciting prostitution" only or mostly to this form of prostitution. In Amsterdam routes are the streetwalkers in this decade along Leidsestraat , Weteringschans and Frederiksplein.

1970 - 1990

From the year 1970 show in Amsterdam, as everywhere in Europe, many street prostitutes addicted to drugs. Presumably then takes the number of complaints from citizens and agencies to ensure nuisance of street prostitution. In the 80 street prostitution takes place, especially, in the Utrechtsestraat district. Then moves it then to the De Ruyter Quay to Central Station and the Piet Hein Kade in the Eastern Docklands.

Tippelzone Theemsweg (1996 - 2003)

In the 90s, trouble behind the Central Station, probably the reason to set an official prostitution area. This is planned to Theemsweg in the Western Harbour area , and opened in 1996. Besides reducing nuisance were other, by the politically set, goals may be: focus on street prostitution, enhancing the safety of prostitutes, improve their economic bargaining power. The prostitution area was a "living room" set, which includes medical assistance was provided to the prostitutes.

From the beginning were mainly addicted prostitutes - whose main aim was presumably the zone - way of the zone, because the location was inaccessible and unattractive to them.

Wave of illegal immigrants

After October 2000, when rural brothel ban is lifted , take over the Netherlands the number of Eastern European street prostitutes increased. They are two ways to "illegal": without valid residence or status in the Netherlands without a work permit. Also in the Amsterdam streetwalkers' zone they are present, often accompanied by non-prostitutes, also referred to as "pimps and traffickers." At one point defines a large group of illegal Bulgarian and Romanian women, the image of the Theemsweg.

There are reports that "crime" around soliciting areas increased or "organized crime in the form of trafficking" and "violent" and "nuisance" increased, and that there "was evidence of forced prostitution" . Other sources also speak of some arms and some drugs on the prostitution area.

Closure

The exact course of events thereafter is unclear. A source says: The police sent the illegal prostitutes away and put police officers on duty, then kept the customers away, then continued to the other prostitutes away, then closed the town's area. The City of Amsterdam said: "measures against illegal underage prostitution and involuntary did not have the desired effect," "organized crime was very present," the inconvenience was too great". Certainly, in any case, the municipality decided zone at December 15, 2003 closing. It worked when another fifteen Dutch non-addicted women.

Since closure of the prostitution area around Central Station is back, or still soliciting prostitution instead of a group of addicted women.

The "Oudkerk affair"

Het Parool reports that around 17 January 2004 the Amsterdam police, Amsterdam alderman Rob Oudkerk has regularly reported to the Theemsweg the time I get tippelzone was. Then said Mayor Cohen Sunday, Jan. 18 in the television Buitenhof that the Amsterdam police reported him, Oudkerk have signaled to the prostitution area and that he Theemsweg Oudkerk in late 2002 called on them. Then writes the Christian newspaper Trouw on January 19: "Oudkerk would frequently prostitutes have visited the disputed tippelzone the Theemsweg" followed by facts and rumors Oudkerk privacy and negative reactions from politicians, followed by negative feedback of Allegiance. Then message on January 19 also NRC Handelsblad most of the above rumors and more rumors to get there again. Monday January 19 will Amsterdam PvdA - city council meeting and Rob Oudkerk and night Oudkerk announced that his group's confidence in him has resigned and that he therefore would resign. PvdA leader Tjalling Halbertsma gives as explanation that a smear campaign of stories and reports Oudkerk has made it impossible to work and the Labour Group had to terminate the trust in Oudkerk.

If you are looking for street prostitutes, Amsterdam is probably one of the worst place in Western Europe. Window prostitution and brothels are legal there, so consequently the offer for streetwalkers is marginal and cops is rather strict about no legal hookers. There was a tippelzone in Amsterdam long time ago, but today tippelzone does not exist. You still may get lucky if you like streetwalkers. Best places to find street hookers in Amsterdam are De Wallen red light district (black whores without money to pay a room) and around the railway station.

I remember back in the days. Maybe in 2002 when I was in Amsterdam, there was still some street prostitutes behind the railway station. I have not seen these street whores anymore. But occasionally you can see some black girls walking around and offering "suck and fuck" in the red light area. I have never talked to them, but I was wondering if anyone in here knows where do these streetwalkers take their Johns for a fuck? Do they have a room in the area? Because in Red light area you can not find an dark street corner where you could let them suck your cock, there is just way too many tourists.

Guys. I have lived in Amsterdam for 12 years now and street prostitution is almost gone. Only prostitutes you can find from the street are those who are coming or going to work behind the windows in red light district. Maybe at the busy night you may find some black prostitutes who do not rent a room from the red light area (for whatever reason they have: example money or they caused trouble and no body wants to rent a room for them).

So I suggest not to get involved with these black girls in RLD, they will only give you a trouble because they are trouble makers!

There use to be Tippelzone ( Read more about Tippelzone: http://www.wikisexguide.com/wiki/Tippelzone ) in Amsterdam, but it does not exist anymore. You can find Tippelzones in other cities in Holland such as: Utrecht, Arnhem, Groningen, Heerlen, and Nijmegen. Holland is a very small country so if you want to fuck street prostitutes and experience something new, then I would consider to take a day trip to any Tippelzone´s of Holland where street prostitution is allowed! It will always beat boring Anne Frank museums in Amsterdam and there is also very nice nature once you get out from the Amsterdam.

This is what Tippelzone in Amsterdam did look a like:

Guest AMSTERDAM PROSTITUTES

Oh man! I wish there would still be a tippelzone in Amsterdam. I have a fetish on street hookers and I would love to fuck them with out worrying about police. In USA, you need to constantly look over your shoulders and consequences are bad if you get caught. I love the Dutch idea of tippelzone, because you get same kind of feeling as you would pick up whores in street prostitution neighbourhoods of america. But I just think tippelzone is very smart also because there will always going to be street hookers and this way government can keep it much much safer.

Is there anyone in here who actually experienced the tippelzone while it was still active in Amsterdam?
