Maine woman charged with prostitution in Haverhill By Jim Patten HAVERHILL — A South Berwick, Maine, woman was arrested and charged with soliciting sex for a fee after she offered a sexual act to an undercover officer Wednesday morning, police said. Deputy police Chief Donald Thompson said [Name(s) deleted by Admin], 29, was seen by officers standing at the corner of White and Cedar streets, looking into cars as they drove by. "This is an area known for prostitution," Thompson said. Detective Sonny Greenwood was sent to the area and met up with [Name(s) deleted by Admin], and arrested her after she offered him sex for money, police said. She was charged with soliciting sex for a fee. Thompson said police don't know why the woman would have come to Haverhill from Maine. Undercover officers conduct prostitution sweeps throughout the year, arresting prostitutes and their customers in an effort to address what they call a "quality of life issue," for the city's neighborhoods, police said.
